10) Brawl For All
I don't think I've made it any secret that I love the shit out of this song. It's actually one of the reasons I was such a big fan of Ezekiel Jackson. I dare you to listen to this song while walking down a hallway. Any hallway. If you tell me you didn't feel like a complete and total badass, you're a dirty fucking liar.
9) nWo Wolfpac
I know that without the regular nWo there would have been no Wolfpac (although if you want to get technical, without the UWF invasion angle in New Japan there would have been no nWo, but that's neither here nor there) but I was a bigger fan of the red and black. Plus, the entrance song was better, in my opinion.
8) Mankind
The fact that Mankind was the first (and still ONLY) wrestler to have intro AND outro music was pretty fucking awesome. Especially since they were so completely different from each other. Rather than put two separate videos, here's one with both together. The exit music kicks in around the 1:54 mark.
7) The Rock
While his later theme from the 2000s (the one that starts with him shouting "IF YA SMELLLL" blah blah blah) is the better one to me, I still like this one, because it fit so well with his brash, cocky attitude.
6) The Brood
Again, I haven't made it a secret that I love the shit out of this song. They really, really, really, really, REALLY need to add this song and entrance to the next game and every game from here on out.
5) D-Generation X
Even though these are listed in no particular order, if I was ranking them in order, yes, DX would still be higher on the list than nWo. Why? Because it's my list and I'll do what I want. Also, unlike with the nWo, Vince didn't water down DX by having every asshole on the roster become members of DX.
4) New Age Outlaws
As if you didn't know this would be on here. Come on.
3) Triple H
I almost didn't include this on here since he didn't start using it until July of 1999, but it was still in the 90s, and as I've said before, I think it's the best one he had. And that's saying a lot because I love the shit out of Motorhead and "King of Kings"
2) The Undertaker
I like to pretend that Bikertaker never happened. Do you hear me? IT NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED! It doesn't matter how many times I hear this, as soon as that first bell toll rings out, I get a shiver down my spine. Every. Damn. Time.
1) Stone Cold Steve Austin
To me, this song is the ultimate. Because no matter what, as soon as you heard that sound of glass shattering, you knew someone was about to get fucked up. Whether it was a full-on match, or just Stone Cold coming down to talk, at least one person was gonna be on the receiving end of a Stone Cold Stunner, and beers would be had. And it doesn't matter what version it is, the song is badass. Well, except for the H-Blockx version. I mean, it was ok, but it wasn't that great. Disturbed version? Fucking awesome. Snoop Dogg version? Banging. H-Blockx? Meh.
OK, this list was a hell of a lot harder to pick than the last one, mainly because there were so many other great themes I could've picked as well: Kane, Test, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Too Cool, Mean Street Posse. And yes, I'm completely serious about the last two. I mean, they were biggest assclowns (especially Too Cool), and The Worm is single-handedly the worst fucking finisher, but I dug their entrance songs.
As usual, feel free to leave feedback here (or on the Facebook group if that's how you came here) or email me HERE and be sure to put 90s Theme Songs or some kind of bullshit like that in the Subject header so I don't think it's spam and delete it.
I think I might just have to do that ECW-only list at some point before I do the final installment of theme songs from 2000 to the present.
